Effect Detroit is a Michigan Nonprofit Community Development Corporation committed to developing, supporting, and stewarding holistic urban community revitalization. Our purpose is to create pathways to healthier lives within strong, socioeconomic diverse neighborhoods in Southeastern Michigan. We are an organization of business leaders, partnering with residents to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. This will be accomplished through partnership with the national nonprofit, Purpose Built Communities.
Effect Detroit will work to create a vibrant community in Southeast Detroit. We aim to build high quality mixed-income housing and continue rehabilitation of existing Detroit housing. An anti-displacement regulation for existing residents will be enforced. We are directly focusing on the cradle-to-college pathway for students and their educational future. We believe comprehensive community wellness options are necessary for all these resources to work in harmony.
